Cookie Policy
Last updated: October 1, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Carevo Inc. ("Carevo," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit and interact with our platform. This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, provide a better user experience, and supply information to site operators. Cookies may be "session cookies" (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent cookies" (stored until they expire or you delete them).
2. Types of Cookies We Use
2.1 Essential Cookies
These cookies are strictly necessary for the operation of our platform. They enable core functionality such as authentication, session management, and security. Without these cookies, the Service cannot function properly. Essential cookies cannot be disabled.

sb-refresh-token | Supabase authentication refresh token | 30 days |
__stripe_mid | Stripe fraud prevention and payment security | 1 year |
__stripe_sid | Stripe session identifier for payment processing | Session |
csrf_token | Cross-site request forgery protection | Session |
2.2 Analytics Cookies
We use PostHog for product analytics to understand how users interact with the platform. Analytics cookies help us measure traffic patterns, identify popular features, and detect usability issues. Data collected through analytics cookies is aggregated and used to improve the Service.
We also use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It does not set or read any cookies.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
ph_phc_* | PostHog distinct user identifier for analytics | 1 year |
ph_session_id | PostHog session tracking for session replay and analytics | 30 minutes |
PostHog is configured to respect Do Not Track (DNT) browser settings. When DNT is enabled, analytics cookies are not set and no tracking data is collected. You can also opt out of analytics tracking through the cookie preferences banner.
2.3 Preference Cookies
Preference cookies store your settings and choices to provide a personalized experience across visits.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
carevo_theme | Stores your light/dark theme preference | 1 year |
carevo_locale | Stores your language preference (English or Chinese) | 1 year |
carevo_cookie_consent | Records your cookie consent preferences | 1 year |
3. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies on our platform are set by third-party services that we use. These services include:
- Stripe— for secure payment processing and fraud prevention. Stripe's cookie usage is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- PostHog— for product analytics and feature flags. PostHog's data practices are governed by PostHog's Privacy Policy.
- Sentry— for error monitoring and performance tracking. Sentry may set cookies for session identification when errors occur.
4. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
You can control and manage cookies in several ways:
- Cookie Banner. When you first visit Carevo, a cookie consent banner allows you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your preferences at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer.
- Browser Settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings. Refer to your browser's help documentation for instructions. Note that blocking essential cookies may prevent the Service from functioning correctly.
- Do Not Track. We respect the Do Not Track (DNT) browser signal. When DNT is enabled, we disable non-essential analytics tracking.
5. Similar Technologies
In addition to cookies, we may use similar technologies such as:
- Local Storage. Used to store non-sensitive user preferences and application state on your device. Local storage data persists until explicitly cleared.
- Session Storage. Used for temporary data that is needed only during your current browser session, such as form state during the onboarding flow.
6. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
