Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: April 1, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the Carevo platform, including our website, web application, Chrome extension, APIs, and all related services. This AUP is part of and incorporated into our Terms of Service. Violation of this AUP may result in suspension or termination of your account.
1. General Conduct
All users of the Carevo platform are expected to act honestly, professionally, and in good faith. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and truthful information in your profile, resumes, job listings, and all communications on the platform.
- Treat other users, including candidates and employers, with respect and professionalism.
- Use the Service only for its intended purpose: career development, job matching, recruitment, and related professional activities.
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction.
2. Prohibited Activities for All Users
You may not use the Service to:
2.1 Fraud and Misrepresentation
- Create fake accounts, profiles, or identities for deceptive purposes.
- Fabricate qualifications, work experience, education, or skills in your profile or resume.
- Submit AI-generated content as your own work in a way that misrepresents your actual abilities (for example, submitting AI-generated code samples as your own during a technical assessment).
- Post fraudulent or misleading job listings, including roles that do not exist, bait-and-switch listings, or listings designed to collect personal information.
- Impersonate another individual, company, or organization.
2.2 Harassment and Discrimination
- Engage in harassment, bullying, intimidation, or threatening behavior toward any user.
- Discriminate against candidates or employers on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic.
- Post content that is hateful, defamatory, obscene, or incites violence.
2.3 Spam and Unsolicited Communications
- Send unsolicited bulk messages, advertisements, or promotional materials to other users.
- Use the platform to recruit for multi-level marketing schemes, pyramid schemes, or similar programs.
- Repeatedly contact users who have not responded or who have indicated they are not interested.
2.4 Technical Abuse
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the platform without express written permission.
- Attempt to bypass rate limits, access controls, authentication mechanisms, or other security measures.
- Introduce malware, viruses, trojans, worms, or other harmful code into the Service.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service or its underlying technology.
- Use the API in ways that exceed documented rate limits or in a manner that degrades the Service for other users.
- Interfere with, disrupt, or overload the Service's infrastructure, servers, or networks.
2.5 Data and Privacy Violations
- Collect, store, or share personal information of other users without their consent.
- Use information obtained through the Service for purposes unrelated to legitimate hiring or career development activities.
- Share login credentials with unauthorized individuals or allow others to use your account.
3. Additional Rules for Candidates
- Do not apply for jobs you have no genuine interest in or qualification for, solely to inflate metrics or test the system.
- Do not use the auto-apply feature to send mass applications indiscriminately. The feature is designed for targeted, qualified applications only.
- Ensure that any documents you upload (resumes, certifications, portfolios) are your own and contain accurate information.
- While you may use AI-generated content (such as resume suggestions and cover letter drafts) provided by the Service, you are responsible for reviewing and ensuring the accuracy of all content before submission.
4. Additional Rules for Employers
- Post only genuine, current job openings. Do not post speculative listings to build candidate pipelines without an actual open role.
- Provide accurate compensation information. If a salary range is listed, actual offers should fall within that range.
- Respond to matched candidates in a timely manner. Consistent failure to engage with mutual matches may result in reduced visibility in the matching system.
- Do not use candidate data obtained through the platform for any purpose other than evaluating them for the specific role they matched or applied for, unless you have their explicit consent.
- Comply with all applicable employment laws, including anti-discrimination statutes, in your hiring practices.
- If you use the Role Blueprint feature, provide accurate and complete information about the role, team, and company culture to ensure quality matches.
5. Chrome Extension Usage
- Use the Chrome extension only on supported job board websites as intended. Do not attempt to use it on unsupported sites or modify its behavior.
- Do not use the extension to circumvent any job board's terms of service or rate limits.
- The extension's auto-apply feature should be used responsibly and only for positions where you meet the basic qualifications.
6. AI Usage Guidelines
- AI-generated content from Carevo is a starting point, not a finished product. Always review, verify, and personalize AI-generated resumes, cover letters, and other materials before use.
- Do not attempt to manipulate or "jailbreak" the Career Agent to produce content that violates this policy or our Terms of Service.
- Do not use the Career Agent to generate content for purposes unrelated to career development, such as academic assignments, commercial content creation, or any illegal activity.
- Report any unexpected or harmful AI outputs to our support team at support@carevo.tech.
7. Reporting Violations
If you encounter behavior that violates this Acceptable Use Policy, please report it to us at abuse@carevo.tech. Include as much detail as possible, including screenshots, user identifiers, and a description of the violation. We investigate all reports and take appropriate action.
8. Enforcement
We reserve the right to investigate and take action against violations of this AUP, including but not limited to:
- Issuing a warning to the user.
- Temporarily suspending the user's account while an investigation is conducted.
- Permanently terminating the user's account.
- Removing content that violates this AUP without prior notice.
- Reporting illegal activity to law enforcement authorities.
The severity of enforcement action will depend on the nature, frequency, and impact of the violation.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated policy on the Service and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
